DeckLink Optical Fiber is compatible with Windows™, Mac OS X™ and Linux™ and features HD/SD-SDI, optical fiber SDI capture and playback, reference input, RS-422 deck control and SD keying. DeckLink Optical Fiber let’s you use common low cost optical fiber networking cable that electricians can install. Connect to Anything

DeckLink Studio includes highest quality 10 bit SDI video combined with enhanced analog connections to support a massive range of video equipment. DeckLink Studio includes fully independent connections for SDI, analog component, S-Video and composite video. Both the SDI and analog component connections auto switch between SD and HD, plus there's an extra SD SDI output via a built in hardware down converter for when you're working in HD. When you're working in NTSC and PAL, you can use the SD-SDI output as a key output! Also included are a massive number of audio connections, with 4 channels of balanced analog audio, 8 channels of SDI audio plus 2 channels of AES/EBU digital with sample rate converters. For a broadcast strength solution, DeckLink Studio also has RS-422 deck control and blackburst and tri-sync reference input. Click here for tech specs.

Now you can capture and playback to the widest range of equipment, such as HDCAM, HD-D5, HDCAM SR 4:2:2, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, HD receivers, HDV cameras, televisions, VHS recorders, analog broadcast monitors, mixers and many more!

Hardware Down Converter

If you've ever wanted to monitor in both HD and SD while you work, then you'll love the built in high quality down converter that's always active on the SD-SDI, S-Video and composite video output connections. This lets you use the main SD/HD-SDI output for HD, while simultaneously using the SD-SDI, S-Video and composite outputs for standard definition. When working in HD the built in down converter lets all video outputs remain active in both capture and playback mode, and in all HD video formats! You can instantly select between letterbox, anamorphic 16:9 and center cut 4:3 down conversion styles.

Incredible Analog Connections

Only DeckLink Studio has enhanced analog connections to make it easy to connect to a wider range of analog broadcast equipment. You can simultaneously connect to analog component, S-Video and composite equipment, because DeckLink Studio has independent connections for each. All outputs are always active and will output via the built in down converter when you're working in HD. DeckLink Studio is the perfect capture card for working with decks such as Betacam SP, as it includes 4 channels of balanced analog audio, so you can capture and playback all 4 channels of Betacam SP audio at the same time. DeckLink Studio has more analog connections than SD only capture cards and costs hundreds of dollars less!

True Professional Quality Audio

DeckLink Studio features a massive 4 channels of balanced professional analog audio in and out, as well as 2 channels of AES/EBU digital audio in and out, for broadcast quality and sample accurate AV sync. DeckLink Studio also includes a sample rate converter on the AES/EBU input, so you can connect to any digital audio device, from either synchronized or un-synchronized sources. DeckLink Studio includes 8 channels of SDI embedded audio that are perfect for Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro's multi channel audio support. When working with multi channel audio, DeckLink Studio can switch it's analog audio output 3 and 4 to AES/EBU digital audio outputs. That means you get an extra 2 digital audio outputs for a total of 6 channels of AES/EBU digital audio out! DeckLink Studio is perfect for 5.1 surround sound editing and multi language digital audio monitoring.

More HD Real Time Effects

DeckLink Studio’s super fast 2.5 Gb/s 1 lane PCI Express connection plugs directly into Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro's real time effects processing engine. Unlike FireWire products, you get all your CPU time dedicated to more multi layer HD real time effects. Only DeckLink Studio's high speed PCI Express lets you upgrade to HD without limiting your HD real time effects! The higher speed of PCI Express easily handles both compressed and uncompressed video file formats, such as ProRes(Mac), DVCPro HD, JPEG, DV, HDV playback, uncompressed 8 bit and uncompressed 10 bit. 1 Lane PCI Express also allows DeckLink Studio to work in lower cost computers and is fully compatible with 1, 4, 8 and 16 lane PCI Express slots.

Built in SD Keyer!

When working in standard definition, DeckLink Studio includes the most amazing quality digital internal keyer that lets you key RGBA images over the video input. That's a total keying solution built right into DeckLink Studio. The built in keyer works great when used with Blackmagic Design's included Photoshop plug-ins, or even with RGBA animated video software for keying. If you want to perform keying externally, such as an external video mixer, then just select external key and DeckLink Studio will output the key channel on the SD-SDI output, with the fill channel on the main SD/HD-SDI output.

Compatible with Popular Video Software

DeckLink Studio is perfect for editing, broadcast graphics and digital effects work with built in support for your favorite video software such as Apple Final Cut Pro™, Adobe Premiere Pro™, Adobe After Effects™, Adobe Photoshop™, eyeon Fusion™ and many more. DeckLink Studio includes plug ins for Photoshop so you can capture and output frames directly from within Photoshop. Real time playback from Adobe After Effects is supported so you can live preview your animations on your broadcast monitor. For ultimate flexibility, you can install on Windows XP™, Windows Vista™ and Intel-based Mac Pro systems and instantly switch between 1080i, 1080p and 720p formats in HD, or NTSC and PAL formats for worldwide compatibility.

That's important when working with software that does not have support for hardware capture and playback, such as After Effects and Fusion. To help setup high speed disk arrays for uncompressed 10 bit HD editing, DeckLink Studio includes Blackmagic Disk Speed Test™ software that checks your disk array and gives you an easy to understand speed test with the results in video frames per second!

Online JPEG for Adobe Premiere Pro

On Windows, Blackmagic's full resolution (1920 x 1080) professional quality compressed HD codec can capture JPEG AVI files in real time using Premiere Pro. Unlike HDV and DVCPRO HD which uses reduced resolution 1440x1080 video, Blackmagic's Online JPEG maintains the full resolution 1920x1080 resolution of HD video without the huge file size of uncompressed HD video. Blackmagic's Online JPEG is so efficient that full motion 1080i HD video can be recorded at only 12 MB per second vs. a massive 119 MB per second for uncompressed HD video.

Blackmagic's compressed files are so compact, that 1080 HD video can be captured to a single internal hard disk or easily transported on a portable Firewire drive! Online JPEG is compatible with Premiere Pro and After Effects and can even be used by editors without Blackmagic capture cards making it one of the most versatile compressed codecs available.

Broadcast Graphic Design with Adobe® After Effects®

Adobe After Effects is one of the most popular tools for broadcast graphics and animation, and DeckLink has special features to make sure you can build a complete integrated solution with this great app! After Effects is fully QuickTime™ based, so it works with all DeckLink media. On Windows™ you can also open and render Blackmagic uncompressed 10 and 8 bit AVI and QuickTime™ files too. Files can be dropped into Final Cut Pro™ or Premiere Pro timelines without rendering, so you can move media between tools. DeckLink provides full RAM preview playback out of the DeckLink output, so you can always see what you're working on.

If you're not doing editing, then you can use the included Blackmagic Deck Control application to remotely capture and output QuickTime™ clips with timecode accuracy. Use the Blackmagic Software Codec so you can work with media even when a DeckLink card is not installed on the system. There is no better solution for using After Effects for high end work than DeckLink Studio!

Broadcast Paint with Adobe® Photoshop®

Adobe Photoshop is the standard for graphics. When used in television you can finally bring in some of the world's most talented designers into your workflow, without needing to retrain them on custom paint systems. DeckLink cards include Photoshop plug-ins, so you can directly capture and output still frames from within the Photoshop application itself.

If you're working with 10 bit HD/SD-SDI, you can even import and export 16 bit Photoshop™ images for full quality. Use DeckLink Studio keying to export and key standard definition graphics from the video input using Photoshop alpha channels. You can also use Blackmagic Deck Control to capture the still images from broadcast decks. Outputting Photoshop graphics from DeckLink cards lets you see the correct color and the effects of video interlace and field movement. DeckLink cards use unity gain on, so you can't get illegal 100% RGB video levels eliminating surprises when graphics are output to tape!

Compositing and Effects with Autodesk Combustion™

DeckLink cards supports Autodesk Combustion™ and let you build an independent workstation with full-RAM-preview playback as well as support for Quick Capture on both Mac OS X™ and Windows™. Use Blackmagic Deck Control to capture and output clips to broadcast decks with time code accuracy, and because DeckLink HD cards use standard QuickTime™ and AVI media files, you can open clips from both platforms for full media sharing.

Real time RAM preview is supported directly from the DeckLink Studio video outputs, so you can see what your video is going to look like before rendering. You can always see a live preview as you're working and adjusting layers and settings for a fully interactive workflow.

DeckLink cards are compatible with most popular software for video, and we are constantly working with manufacturers to add updates to support wonderful new features as they're released. Unlike other systems, your DeckLink HD card will always evolve and increase in features as new software is released. That's why DeckLink HD cards are the world's highest selling uncompressed video cards.
